Results of Friday nite sew in

I was able to work on the wall hangings tonight. I pieced the borders and attached them, fused on some of the items and most of the blanket stitching on mine. I think I will give the other to my mom to put her finishing touches on it. She will enjoy it. Now it is off to bed. Another 10 hour day at work tomorrow. Hope you all had a fun evening of sewing. Friday night sew in

Tonight is the night. I am planning to work on two wallhanging. They have an autumn theme. One is for me and the other is for my mom. I haven't decided if I should do all of hers or let her finish the hand work and quilting. She loves quilting but doesn't like to pick out the fabrics. I love that part. What do you think? The New Toilet

Larry and I both wanted a high tank toilet but didn't want to spend the money for one. Surprise surprise.... So he decided to make one. This is what we came up with. There is two chains that you pull to flush the toilet. #1 and #2...Get it! Just one more thing that makes me smile. Does that mean I have a sick mind?Anyway... To cover all the plumbing he wanted to incase it all with wood. We had run out of stain when I was doing the cabinets...I didn't save the can....Thought I had the same one....NOPE...so I am going to try to fix this today. I don't like the way it looks now. I think I am going to paint over the stain with flat black paint with a dry brush. I thought it might look neat to make the tank cover look like an old crate. It seems like everything in this bathroom has been a do-it over and over again type of deal. So here we go again. Take two....or is it Four?

Some new goodies

Here are some new goodies that I picked up. The basket is wonderful. I just love the dark color. I picked it up tonight on the way home from work. It was on the curb. I am hoping to make a liner for it and put it in my laundry room. The tulips were from the thrift store. Then the two picture frames(50 cents each), the sheep($4), stars(1.25)each were all garage sale finds from Sat. before work. I thought I might paint the frames black and make some wool applique type thing to put in them. Pumpkins etc. for fall . The sheep is going into the new bathroom.

Painting the Bathroom

I am happy to report that we were able to paint the bathroom tonight. We are almost done. This has truely been a LONG journey. I am so excited to that the end is in sight. Items left on the TO DO LIST: Finish the shower surround, finish the faucets, Put a sealer on the beam for the ceiling. ( I am hoping to put that on on Wed.) and seal the tile floor in the shower. Then the baseboards and decorating. Well I guess we still have a way to go. But we are getting there slowly. I am really excited about how it is turning out though. We wanted something original and I think we are going to have a truely unique master bath when we finish. I can't wait to show some pictures but I don't want to ruin the surprise. Good night.

Such a Lovely Place

Larry and I visited this wonderful place. I thought I would post it for a day or so. This is what we hope our little shed will look like once we get it stained and it ages a little. It is so peaceful. It is definately one of the things that make me smile. Good night.

I love wednesdays!

I work for a large restaurant and they are closed on wed. and sun....therefore I love wed. and sun. I had grand plans for my day off. I was going to get up before it got too hot and vacumn my car, wash the windows and take it to the car wash. I then planned on running errands and end the day at my company picnic. Well.... I didn't do any of those things except the picnic. I did however get to go to one of my favorite country stores and look around and I did get to go to the thrift store. I found some cute salt and pepper shakers.

Larry went to bed early so I got alittle more done on the rug. Eventhough it was not as planned I still had a very good day off. I looked at so many wonderful blogs. So many things to get the creative juices flowing. lol. Hope you enjoyed your day...whatever it had to offer.

Decisions...Decisions

Just picked up the sept/oct. issue of Quiltmaker Magazine. I can't decide which one to work on first. I liked so many things in this issue. I think I might have to sleep on this decision. Maybe I can dream of quilts this way. Good night!

A little bit closer to the finish

I enjoyed my day off today. I was able to work on my rug, get caught up on my laundry. I also prepared the wool that I bought at the thrift store. Now I just need to felt it. Larry and I spent time clipping all three of our dogs. They just love to get a hair cut. Yah right...I also made another batch of zucchini blueberry bread. I love this stuff.

Re-Do the flowers or leave them?

Well I am working on this newest project and I am afraid that the flowers don't stand out enough. I am trying to decide if I should take them out and re-hook them in a different color that might show up more. What do you think? I thought I might be able to outline it somehow. Maybe with a very thin strip of a dark color. I still need to put the centers in two of the flowers. Not sure what color they should be. I am usually not this indecisive. I am so happy for a day off tomorrow. I hope you have a happy weekend!

Rug Project #2...Binding Done

Well, I finally worked on something and I feel better! I have been telling myself to finish this rug for weeks, thanks to alittle inspiration , I did it. Now if I can only keep the ball rolling, so to speak. Hope you are having a good evening.

I need some inspiration

I want to do something but I don't know just what. Have you ever been in one of those moods. I hate when this happens. Either I can't think of anything or I think of too many things and get overwhelmed. I am a mess! My husband never seems to have this happen to him and he is unable to get it. He is always working on something and always seems to have a neverending list of ideas in his head. I need to be more like him in this area (I think)
Is anyone out there starting something new? The funny thing is that I am pretty sure that no one else even looks at this blog, so I would probably have better luck getting some motivation from my dog that is sleeping in the chair next to me. lol
