trouble in Comment-Ville

I got an email from a friend who is having trouble leaving a comment on my blog. If you have a second please try it out and see if there is something wrong. Feel free to write any old goofy thing just as a test. Have a great weekend. Lisa
I don't have anything new to report. I wish that something exciting has happened or I have made something pretty or something tasty. Nope, nothing.

One thing I can't believe is that it is friday again. I hope you are having fun and that you are having better luck than me at being creative.

Bathroom update and My husband's sense of humor

Well, Yesterday we put our little birdie friends( who still don't have names) into a smaller cage. Larry has to do some work on their other cage.
Aren't they sweet sitting on the swing together? I hope no Lebron James fans are offended by the next picture. My husband thought that this particular article in the paper was perfect for the liner on the bottom of the cage.

We don't really follow sports but he found real humor in this.

We had to fill in a gap in the ceiling of our bathroom. We took part of the wall down. We thought if we hung a beam up we wouldn't have to patch the drywall. So the two of us put the beam in place. Well mostly Larry with a little (very Little) help from me. Unless screaming and saying alot of oh dears count.

I was mainly worried it would fall on the tub and break something. But it is up and no one got hurt. lol. Unfortunatly, we are still going to have to patch the drywall cuz it didn't cover it up. I guess I picked the more rounded edge to be the top and it rounds in so much that it doesn't cover all the seam. BUMMER! I wanted to suggest that we take it down and flip it over but I kept my mouth shut. I am very proud of myself.
We are one step closer to finishing the bedroom suite. Thank goodness. Now we need to touch up the drywall and paint. Yeah.... Can you feel the excitement?
Have a good week.

I can't believe it is Sat. night already.

It seems like the weeks are going by faster and faster. I mean it is almost november. Then it will be Dec. then I will turn 40. EEEEK! Are you really only as old as you feel? lol. By Sat. night I feel 90.

Today was nuts. We were short handed and busy. But isn't that how it usually goes? But we got thru it and Tomorrow is a day off. Yeh!

I know that I have said it before but I am going to say it again. I hope to get out bathroom done tomorrow. We have to touch up some paint and hang a beam in the ceiling. SOOOOO, cross your fingers. I am so anxious to show some pictures. But I want it to be finished first.

I hope whatever you find to do tomorrow will make you smile.

Hey! These trees grew overnight.

Well, my little trees went in pretty easily. I had to outline them with the light blue. I am not sure if it looks right. I planned to continue the whole sky pattern around the trees, but then you couldn't see the tree branches. So I unhooked and used the light blue. What do you think. Is there more unhooking that should take place? I need to draw another sheep. The current one looks goofy. I also have to come up with a pattern to do in the 3" border. Maybe scallops or half square triangles. Who knows. I just might wing it.

Topic change: Isn't it a bummer that we don't get to continue to feel like we are twenty? I swear my knees have aged about 30 years. I went to get out of my car after driving home from my 10 hour day on my feet and I walked like a 90 year old. My dear husband thought it was very funny. So uncool. Of course it is a totally different story when he has to walk alot during his work day. His famous line is he was on his feet all day. lol... This is intended to be funny. I hope I don't sound bitter or grouchy.

Well, it is time to hook alittle. I hope you have a great weekend. Do something fun....

Anyone Grow Pumpkins?

I was toying with the idea to grow some pumpkins next year. I had so much fun shopping for them this year. I swear it was like Christmas or something. I didn't get near as many as I would have liked. I thought I could save the seeds and plant some next year. Do you need alot of room? Can you make them climb onto something? Sorry if these questions seem silly. I am basically a city girl folks. But I have been told that there is no such thing as a stupid question. I don't know if I buy that last statment myself. I am pretty sure I have heard a few. lol.

I think I am off to go do some hookin". Rug hooking that is. I hope everyone is having a good night. I can't believe it is almost November. Christmas is gonna be hear before you know it.

I put up a fence today

Welllll, maybe not a real fence but I did make a fence on my current rug project. I haven't worked on this for a long time. I had a wonderful day today. Larry had to work on some equipment for work. He did this in our driveway, soooo I set up a chair out in the sunshine with him and started hookin'. I got quite a bit done. This evening was hard.
This evening we went to calling hours for a little 3 year old boy. I had never met him or his parents. Larry and I are friends of his great grandparents. He had been sick for some time. I am not sure the perticulars. I was told that they had just taken him to a check up two weeks ago and were told that he should be past a critical time. They always said if he could make it past three years he would probably live a semi-normal life. What a shock this must have been. I had never seen a baby coffin. His parents looked like kids themselves. I just have such a heavy heart for them all. The little boy has a twin brother. I have mentioned all this so that if you think of them please keep them in prayer. The funeral is at 12:30 tomorrow.
I am sorry if I put a burdon on your heart. I just feel so bad for them. I am so blessed. I am ashamed at what I consider to be a big deal. God bless you.

What a Relief!

Well news from my dad's specialist visit was good news. Thank you Lord. I was so nervous today. I called my mom when I got home from work and she said the doctor didn't feel there was anything to worry about. Some of his test numbers were up but they were based on numbers from 2001. He said he was going to keep an eye on things but nothing to worry about. Thank you for the prayers. I am sooooo releaved.

Floor cloth giveaway

Well, I didn't win the floor cloth. It went to at home with amy. It was still fun to try.

I can't believe it it Oct. 21st already. Time is going so quickly.

I would like to ask a favor. If you think about it, please say a prayer for my dad. He has to see a specialist tomorrow in regards to his prostate. Not sure what is going to happen. I would really appreciate your prayers.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Fall Color, Pumpkins and Time with Larry...Priceless

Larry has to work tonight so he had the afternoon off. Soooo we did some running around. This is a pretty tree infront of a lovely little church. I should have cropped it before I uploaded it, Oh well.

We stopped and got some pumpkins. I can't believe how much I enjoyed this. Really, you would have thought it was Christmas. It probably felt like it was Christmas by the time I made up my mind. There were so many pretty things.

I put a few by my back door.

A few on the other side of the door. I also found a stem that was broken off out in the parking lot. I have a stem now to make a fabric pumpkin.

A few out in the yard. I still have one to put out by the front door. I usually put most decorations out by the front door. However, we don't ever use our front door...so it seems like I never get to see the pretty decorations, so this time I reversed it. I need to rake, cut grass and do some weeding around my decorated areas but I just had to put them out anyway. I have had a very fun day off. I hope you are enjoying your day also.

A little inspiration

This wonderful quilt
was on display at the Metro Parks Quilt Show and I just thought it was wonderful. I had thought I would like to try this pattern. I was very excited when I found the transfers at Pat Catans a couple week ago. I think that this might be one of my winter projects. I just love looking at quilts. Posted by Picasa

Sunday Summed Up

Sunday was a fun day. I got up early and cooked a nice breakfast for Larry. This suprised him because he is usually the one to make breakfast on Sundays and he usually has to work at getting me out of bed. Not sure what happened. We spent the whole day inside and it wasn't even raining or cold. We just did some little jobs around the house and just rested all day. It was fun.( Oh wait, I already said that) I spent most of the afternoon picking up my sewing room and occasionally stopped to check out what my bloggy friends were doing? hehe. I was going to post a pic of my sewing room, the newly picked up version, but decided it still wasn't picked up enough. Maybe another time. I was able to fold up my wool and put it in a cabinet that I had in the basement. I was happy to get that organized alittle. I still have a lot upstairs that I am using on my current project.

I also started sewing some charms together to try out my new "lil twister" template. I was on a role when Carlee came running into my sewing room, at a 100 miles an hour, carrying a stuffed animal in the shape of a beagle puppy that was making snoring noices. As she run under my sewing table she hit the cord to my iron. It fell on the floor and broke. Soooo no iron-no more sewing today. This is what I got done so far.
I guess the next step, after I get an iron, is to sew on the borders and then cut out the pinwheel blocks. I thought I would make a little version first to see how I do. Well, I hope you all had a great weekend and that you are enjoying your monday. See ya later it is time to get ready for work.
