July 10, 2010

hello, Unfortunatly, I did these latest posts from the beginning of our project, but it is in the wrong order as you view it. If you want to see it in the right order you will have to scroll down first. oopps. I tried to fix but couldn't. oh well, Live and learn. Hope you enjoy our bathroom adventure. We have soooo much more to be done. I hope to post more tomorrow.

Our Closet

We widened the doorway into our closet and made a barn-style door. It slides on a track/rail. We covered that up with a shelf. I always need a place to put all my treasures.

More Progress...

We got the cabinets stained and we hung up some lights.

A little Progress...

Well, we got the sink in and the cabinets made and stained. We put down the wood floors.

Our Sink

We ordered this sink and faucet on-line. We wanted to have something unique for the countertop. A friend of Larry's gave us some rough sawn wood. I liked the boards with the bark still on the edge. So we started out. The upper cabinets are from wood pallets that we got free.

Our Tub

We got this $ 3,000 tub for $74.00. It had alot of scratched and the base was missing. So we took down a wall, and set up the new tub. This picture shows our old tub and the new. Since we didn't have another bathroom we had to get a functional shower before we could rip out the old ugly tub. The marble steps have already been riped out when this picture was taken.

Home Remodeling Projects....

What started out as a simple idea...grew into something else....surprise surprise. Here is Larry taking off the door jam. This is one of two original doors into the only bathroom in our home. Originally, the plan was to close off this doorway into the bathroom, add a toilet infront of the old doorway and put in a new sink. The plumbing was already there. Easy right? Then around 2:30am one day I had an idea.... Who wants to walk thru the kitchen to get to the closet etc. after you take a shower? Not practical right?

So the idea hit me to make the original bathroom into a 1/2 bath, take down a wall, and make our bedroom into a master suite. So here we go on our adventure.

My new Poppy is Blooming!

I have planted poppies before but this is the first that has taken off. Now if I can keep the dogs from stepping or laying on it... this is the path to their favorite water hole.

My Day Off.... What to do first?

I thought I would show you my latest thrift store finds. The christmas wreath was $7. It has lights on it already. The lantern was 25 cents, the dark pitcher was $1.25. I am really starting to get hooked on white pitchers. These two additions only cost 75 cents for both. What do you think of the topiary? I know it needs help with the pot. Well, it will be interesting to see where they find homes today.
Since it is going to be so hot outside I think I will work in the laundry room. Not only do I need to get caught up on the laundry... The actual room is a mess!!! I can't wait for our bathroom make over to be finished. All the plumbing had to be done in the laundry room, and the mess is still there. Today is the day to clean it up.

Hope you enjoy your day.

I need to start just jumping in and get it done. Dread is something that steals my joy. I even hung the rug up and everything. I hope you are having fun creating something too. happy crafting!
