Such a Lovely Place

Larry and I visited this wonderful place. I thought I would post it for a day or so. This is what we hope our little shed will look like once we get it stained and it ages a little. It is so peaceful. It is definately one of the things that make me smile. Good night.

I love wednesdays!

I work for a large restaurant and they are closed on wed. and sun....therefore I love wed. and sun. I had grand plans for my day off. I was going to get up before it got too hot and vacumn my car, wash the windows and take it to the car wash. I then planned on running errands and end the day at my company picnic. Well.... I didn't do any of those things except the picnic. I did however get to go to one of my favorite country stores and look around and I did get to go to the thrift store. I found some cute salt and pepper shakers.

Larry went to bed early so I got alittle more done on the rug. Eventhough it was not as planned I still had a very good day off. I looked at so many wonderful blogs. So many things to get the creative juices flowing. lol. Hope you enjoyed your day...whatever it had to offer.

Decisions...Decisions

Just picked up the sept/oct. issue of Quiltmaker Magazine. I can't decide which one to work on first. I liked so many things in this issue. I think I might have to sleep on this decision. Maybe I can dream of quilts this way. Good night!

A little bit closer to the finish

I enjoyed my day off today. I was able to work on my rug, get caught up on my laundry. I also prepared the wool that I bought at the thrift store. Now I just need to felt it. Larry and I spent time clipping all three of our dogs. They just love to get a hair cut. Yah right...I also made another batch of zucchini blueberry bread. I love this stuff.

Re-Do the flowers or leave them?

Well I am working on this newest project and I am afraid that the flowers don't stand out enough. I am trying to decide if I should take them out and re-hook them in a different color that might show up more. What do you think? I thought I might be able to outline it somehow. Maybe with a very thin strip of a dark color. I still need to put the centers in two of the flowers. Not sure what color they should be. I am usually not this indecisive. I am so happy for a day off tomorrow. I hope you have a happy weekend!

Rug Project #2...Binding Done

Well, I finally worked on something and I feel better! I have been telling myself to finish this rug for weeks, thanks to alittle inspiration , I did it. Now if I can only keep the ball rolling, so to speak. Hope you are having a good evening.

I need some inspiration

I want to do something but I don't know just what. Have you ever been in one of those moods. I hate when this happens. Either I can't think of anything or I think of too many things and get overwhelmed. I am a mess! My husband never seems to have this happen to him and he is unable to get it. He is always working on something and always seems to have a neverending list of ideas in his head. I need to be more like him in this area (I think)
Is anyone out there starting something new? The funny thing is that I am pretty sure that no one else even looks at this blog, so I would probably have better luck getting some motivation from my dog that is sleeping in the chair next to me. lol

More treasures

I found these wicker bar stools on the curb monday night. They are very sturdy and in pretty good shape. I don't know whether I should paint them or leave them and make a slip cover that would cover the back and the seat and go half way down the bottom of the seat. I am very excited cuz I hate the ones we use now. And they were free.

I found a cute bunny and some more pretty wool. I liked this colors.

My "Day off" Treasures

Check out some of my thrift store finds today. I found a pretty quilt. I have a window seat that I am thinking of putting this on. Most of my color scheme for my home is taupe/tan. I don't have hardly any white so I am considering tea dying this so it will fit in more. I was able to get this quilt and two pillow shams for $8.00. I had gone out in the rain I wish I had brushed my hair. lol

My new project

Well, I decided to try to design my own rug pattern. I knew I wanted to get some new fall decorations ready for this year. I decided to use my time wisely and I drew up the new pattern and cut out the wool so that on the drive to Michigan I could get alot accomplished. I also would have the pleasure of looking down while my husband drove.... anyone know what I am talking about? I love Larry dearly but I tend to be a back seat driver only I sit in the passenger seat. haha. So whenever he got alittle too close to the car in front of us, went too fast, changed lanes without the turn signal... I was busy working on the rug and my mouth was shut.... Everyone happy! Anyway, back to the rug... I need to work on the flower petals though. I think I need to have less petals so that they will stand out more. What do you think? I plan to take out the petals and re-do them cuz I don't think I can outline them or anything. Oh well live and learn. Hope you are having a good night. Lisa

Happy Friday Everyone

Well, Day 2 of vacation is going to be busy since I didn't do much on day 1. surprise surprise. Larry and I are leaving for Michigan at 2. My mom is coming over to stay with the dogs. So I need to change the sheets and clean and pack and bake some muffins. I wish I had some energy. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
